Host University
The University of Curaçao Dr. Moises da Costa Gomez (UoC) was founded in 1979. The average student population is 1300 students originating from the island itself and from various other countries.
Currently the UoC has five faculties:
- School of Law;
- Faculty of Engineering;
- Faculty of Social Sciences and Economics;
- Faculty of Arts;
- Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
The University of Curaçao strives to be the leading international university that educates students at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels for Curaçao and the Caribbean region. The UoC’s education is internationally recognized and the university works closely with other leading colleges and universities in the world. As a small-scale national university, we understand the importance of strong strategic alliances with other international institutes. Our structural partnerships encourage the exchange of students and professors and contribute to the quality of our education and research. Our main partner universities are regional universities, such as the University of St. Martin (USM), the University of Aruba, the University of the West Indies and Hofstra University in the United States of America, to name a few. In addition, the University of Curaçao has collaborations with universities and colleges in the Netherlands such as the University of Utrecht, Erasmus University, the University of Amsterdam (UvA), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU), Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (RUG), University of Maastricht, Fontys Hogescholen, and Rotterdam Business School, University of Leiden and University of Twente.
Offering academic and professional higher education in a broad variety of disciplines, the University of Curaçao focuses mainly on applied research, with a practical approach, meaning that real-life practice is an important component in our academic programs.
